There are a number of foreign retailers eyeing the so-called retail business owned by the Lippo group, Hypermart. One retailer who officially declared his interest is the South Korean retailer Lotte Shopping Co Ltd (Lotte).
Three foreign retailers are also briefly reported by Hypermart is interested Shinsigae Co. of South Korea, the U.S. retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and Groupe Casino of France.
Until now, MPPA management has not announced who will be towed as a strategic partner. However, Chief Executive Officer of Lippo Group's James Riady argues, MPPA will invite strategic partners to manage the Hypermart. "We wanted to invite a partner only. MPPA President Benjamin Mailool added, issuers that want investors not only provide financial support in the form of capital contribution, but also market the products of Indonesia.
